Description
Floating Villa offers a distinctive stay on the water at Holmen, just off Bjorøy in Øygarden, around 25 minutes from Bergen city centre. The house accommodates up to 15 guests across six bedrooms and includes spacious indoor living areas and generous terraces overlooking the fjord. Access is by a short boat crossing from the quay, adding to the sense of privacy while remaining within easy reach of Bergen and the surrounding archipelago.
A fully equipped kitchen makes self-catering easy, while the large outdoor terraces are ideal for meals by the water or relaxing after a day outdoors. Guests have complimentary use of a small electric boat, kayak and SUP boards, making it simple to explore the nearby coastline, swim or fish directly from the villa. An outdoor jacuzzi is also available on request, and the renowned Cornelius Seafood Restaurant is only a short boat trip or walk away on Holmen for those looking to enjoy fresh seafood in a unique setting.
Floating Villa is an excellent base for discovering the hiking opportunities of Øygarden and the Bergen region. Liatårnet (341 m), the highest summit on Sotra, rewards hikers with wide views across the coastline and can be reached within a short drive. Nearby walks on Tyssøy and to the historic Munkerøysa burial cairns offer quieter coastal scenery.
Combined with kayaking, boating and the unique experience of staying directly on the sea, Floating Villa is well suited to hikers and outdoor travellers exploring Western Norway.
