Description
Hardanger House is a design hotel beautifully located in Jondal, right by the Hardangerfjord. The hotel combines modern architecture, stylish interiors and natural materials, creating a relaxed and contemporary atmosphere.
The hotel has nine individually designed rooms, all with furnished terraces and beautiful views of the fjord. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with interiors inspired by the nature and character of Hardanger.
The restaurant focuses on high-quality, locally sourced ingredients, paired with carefully selected wines. Guests can also enjoy the hotel’s wellness facilities, including a sauna, training centre and direct access to the fjord via the hotel’s private walkway and beach area.
For hikers and outdoor enthusiasts, Jondal is an excellent base. One of the highlights is a guided glacier hike on Folgefonna, with tours starting around 19 km from Jondal. The popular Blue Ice Hike takes you onto the Juklavass Glacier and offers an unforgettable experience among ice formations and crevasses.
Another great hiking option is Samlen (686 m) near Herand. The trail includes the impressive Hardangertrappa, a stone staircase built by Sherpas, before continuing to the summit with spectacular panoramic views over the Hardangerfjord.
The surrounding area also offers excellent opportunities for cycling, skiing, kayaking and boat trips on the fjord.
With its unique design, excellent food and easy access to some of Hardanger’s best outdoor experiences, Hardanger House is an ideal base for exploring Jondal and the Hardangerfjord.
